The Brightside.

Just facebook, myspace, tumblr, twitter, and formspring me.

Everyone has myspace, facebook, tumblr, twitter, formspring, its getting crazy.

you know everything that happens to a person without them even telling you because you “read it on twitter” and you ask people ridiculous questions anymously because you’re too afraid to say it to there face.

whatever happened to only being able to tell someone something to their face. think back to your grandparents.. they didnt even have a telephone. doesnt it make you wonder what we are all coming to? it does me.

its sad when you can tell your boyfriend you love him via text.. instead of just saying it and meaning it to his face. its pathetic that we have that option.

and yes, I do text.. not nearly as often as i used to, but alot. but sometimes I feel like I was born many generations too late.. because sometimes I find myself relating to elderly folk more than people my own age. and sometimes I wonder why I dont understand kids my own age and I think its mostly because I find myself interested in life and interested in going places.. I dont find myself interested in clothes, or boys, or drugs, or alcohol, or even things like classes and highschool.. I feel so old sometimes i dont even know how to react to the way that teenagers and even some of my older friends and things that they do.. I just dont understand.

i think it would have been cool to live back when people walked miles just to see someone they cared about or to tell them something important. back when kids played outside instead of rotting their lives away on video games and tv shows. i sometimes wish i lived as far back as like the prarie days when you just got up and accomplished as much as you could that day and then went to bed and got up and did the same the next day. I think that life was so much simpler then and I kind of wish sometimes that I had lived then.

most people look at technology and its increasingly quick expansion and see hope and promise for a brighter future.. but if kids are playing video games and watching tv.. when is their education going to happen, when are they going to learn what they need to, to become our future because thats what we are all going to be some day.. the future.

when you see little kids at the mall or in the grocery store or even just in the car next to you at the red light, what do you see? because that kid is going to grow up and make some contribution to this world. and what sort of contribution do we want that to be? what sort of knowledge do we want them to have? how much knowledge?

dont get me wrong, technology is wonderful, amazing even.. but sometimes it just makes me think about how drastically different the world is, even from when i was a kid.. and that wasnt that long ago.

I think mostly… I would rather read a book than spend my life wasting away with technology. It makes me worry what we’ll be like in another ten years.

idk, random jabbering.. any thoughts?
